At La Joya Middle School we have embraced a SPACE theme and have
welcomed visitors from
the National Aeronautics and Space Association (NASA), The Jet Propulsion Laboratory
(JPL), and Rockwell. Those visitors
include
Capt.
James A. Lovell, Jr., USN; Sally K. Ride;
Cal Dooley; and Dr. Cheick M. Diarra.
Click here for their
biographical information. Not only have we had many visitors to our school since its doors opened, but Mother Nature has also provided us with at least one interesting experience....SNOW. It was on January 25, 1999, that Visalia and its surrounding areas received the first measurable snow since 1962. Click here to see pictures of our campus covered in snow. |
