  • Explore the States - Presented by the Library of Congress, this site has state facts and historical stories. Some stories include photos and audio media. This site is a great source for cultural information.
  • IPL Kidspace: Stately Knowledge - This site has state facts, charts, games and links to other web resources. Take a look at the charts for state comparisons and rankings. You will find reliable information and facts on this site. It is presented by Stately Knowledge which is a team of information students of the University of Michigan. 
  • The US50 - A guide to the fifty states - The US50 is an extensive guide to history, outdoors, tourism, events and attractions for the fifty states. This site includes fast facts, secret word puzzles, and fun trivia facts. Go the Backyard USA link for a featured letter sent in about personal memories, experiences, and adventures in the USA. 
  • EnchantedLearning.com - US States - Facts, map and state symbols for the 50 states, with links to related quizzes and printouts. This site has its own search engine with spelling correction. Check out the US extremes and records link for some very interesting facts. 
  • U.S. States - Factmonster.com - This site has complete state profiles and maps. It really has it all. Take the state IQ quiz to find out how much you know about your state. Fact Monster was the winner of the Webby Award for Best Kids' Site in 2001. From the Family Education Network, this site was formerly known as Infopleasekids.com.
  • United States - This site has fast facts about every state and links to other recommended sites. This site can be your one stop State Report web site. It has great information and it's easy to use. Nice graphics for state symbols.
  • Ben's Guide: Quick Facts: Learn About Your State - This site has facts about your state, state government, and your congressperson with a pictorial directory and e-mail links. Take the time to write a note to your congressperson and let them know your ideas about state laws and government.

You will find good reliable information on this site. It is presented by the Library Spot, a free virtual library resource center for educators, students, and librarians.
