What do bats eat?

Some bats eat ripe fruit.  These are
called fruit bats.  They are the biggest bats.  They live in the rainforests.

Some bats eat nectar from flowers.
Some bats eat fish.  The bats catch the fish with their claws.

Some bats eat frogs and other small animals.
Some bats, but not many at all, eat
blood from birds and cattle and other animals.

Most bats eat insects.  Lots and lots of insects!  The little brown bat can eat more than one thousand insects in one hour!
