| They belong to different animal families. A bat is part of the mammal family. A bird is part of the bird family. | ||
| Bats and other mammals have fur on their bodies (like cats and dogs and mice). Birds have feathers covering their bodies. |

Bats are born alive from their
mother's body (like kittens and puppies). A bird hatches from an egg. |
||
| Baby bats drink milk from their mothers (like kittens and puppies and hamsters). A bird eats worms and bugs that the mother brings. | ||

Bats have feet, arms, and hands with fingers. |
