Course Objectives:

bullet

Develop a consumer confidence with computer technology.

bullet

Become entry-level proficient with the following Microsoft applications: Windows, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet Explorer, and Outlook.

bullet

Develop a clear understanding of technology’s role in delivering math content and increasing the potential of student learning.

bullet

Become comfortable with online communication as a format for future coursework.

Format:

Every session will include hands-on computer activities, directed instruction, a Q&A period, and a thought provoking journal discussion question. Formal instruction will end at 7:00 PM with the expectation that participants manage their own learning during asynchronous hours. The lab will remain open each Wednesday until 8:00 PM

Grading:

A – Participation in all activities, a score of 3 on the unit project & 3 on final.
B – Same as above, a score of 2 on the unit project or 2 on final.
I – Incomplete unit project or miss more than one class assignment.

Absent:

Heaven forbid … but should the emergency arise, complete three instructor approved journal article reviews and report on them at the next class meeting.
