View--by clicking on this view, you can work on a single slide and
also add notes in the window pane below the slide. The notes are
handy to remind the author of editing changes, etc. and they do not show
up in the slideshow. Outline View--is powerful for focusing on content over fluff. In Outline view the author can type content in the side window pane and have the text also appear in a pre-chosen template text box (see below). Slide View--is similar to "Normal View" with the exception the entire window is dedicated for slide working space and there is not a "notes" window available. Slide Sorter View--shows small versions of all the slides in one window. This is very useful in getting the big picture. Slides can easily be moved by selecting them and dragging them to their new position. Slide Sorter View is also very handy for adding transitions between slides. Slide Show--When a slide is selected and then the slide show icon is pressed, a full screen preview of the slide and all its animation, if any, is shown. The presentation will continue though all remaining slides, unless you hit the ESC key, which stops the show and returns to the working view. |

| In Outline View, the author can type text by the blinking cursor in the large window to the left of the slide. By using the Outline toolbar text can be promoted or demoted using the left and right arrows. Promoting text (left arrow) moves the text toward the left margin. Demoting (right arrow) indents the text inward. By using these two arrow keys and the Enter key, text can be automatically placed in the slide layout template of your choice. Using this view sends a clear message to the student that the "content" is more important than the fluff that can accompany it. | ![]() |
