Fables

·        A fable is a short story that teaches a lesson.

·        In fables, the characters are animals that act and
talk like people.

·        Fables usually end with a moral – a lesson that can
be learned from the story.

Characteristics of Fables

·        They are fiction – the stories did not really happen –
they are pretend.

·        They are meant to entertain and teach a lesson.

·        The stories usually only have 2 or 3 characters.

·        The moral or lesson is usually stated at the end of
the story.
