Research is reading, listening, studying,
and finding out as much information as you can about rocks, soils, and
fossils. Your teacher will have some helps for you to guide you as you
look for information. Your teacher will also have recording sheets to help
you record the information that you find. Gather your information
carefully. Keep all your information sheets in a folder. Write
neatly and remember that spelling is important. You will find the helps
you need on the Resources page.
The writing part of the task is where you can organize the information that
you find into a report. This report will be done on the computer using Kid Pix®. Your
Kid Pix report needs to have at least four (4) pages. Your group will
need to decide which information to include. You will need to make your
report as interesting as possible so others will want to listen. The
writing will need to be clear so that others can read it. You will need
to include some pictures, too, so your audience will have a clear understanding.
In addition to your report you will need to prepare a short Rock Song or Rap
about rocks, soils, or fossils.
After you have finished all your research, use this storyboard
to plan your Kid Pix presentation. Remember to cooperate with your team
members as you plan your presentation.
Your audition will be in front of an audience of television producers - you
will need to practice your report presentation and song before the
audition. Your audition must be at least one minute in length.
